Dog Friendly Places To Stay in the Cotswolds

We've all experienced the disappointment of finding that perfect hotel, bed and breakfast or self catering accommodation only to find out that dogs are not allowed. So here are a selection of dog friendly hotels, dog friendly cottages and dog friendly B and Bs in the Cotswolds.

Dog Friendly Lodges in the Cotswolds

Lake Pochard Lodges
Lake Pochard Holiday Lodges are situated on the banks of stunning Lake Pochard, an idyllic retreat within the Cotswold Water Park, near Cirencester.

Dogs are welcome at a set fee and can be exercised on the many kilometres of picturesque public footpaths and bridleways within the Cotswold Water Park. They can also swim on the designated dog swimming beach located in the park.

Each of the 15 well-appointed 2- and 3-bedroom Scandinavian-style timber lodges is furnished to a high standard and has a veranda with views across the lake.

The lodges are equipped with LCD TV, DVD player, hob oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and gas BBQ, and linen, towels, electricity and heating are all included within the hire cost.

Dog Friendly Hotels

Hare & Hounds Hotel, near Tetbury

We welcome dogs at The Hare and Hounds Hotel and request that when booking your accommodation you advise the hotel that you will be bringing your dog. Rooms are allocated to owners choosing to bring their dogs and is at the discretion of the manager of the hotel.
Please ask at reception for local walks and details of the Westonbirt Arboretum.

Many Cotswold attractions will allow you to take your dog along with you when you visit, find a selection of dog friendly attractions here.

Batsford Arboretum
Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre is the winner of the Cotswold Tourism Awards Large Visitor Attraction of the Year 2013 and home to the country's largest private collection of trees and shrubs.

Dogs allowed throughout the arboretum and inside the visitor centre on a lead please.

Cotswold Wildlife Park, near Burford
The Cotswold Wildlife Park, near to Burford in Oxfordshire, is set in 160 acres of parkland and gardens around a listed Victorian Manor House and has been open to the public since 1970.

Dogs are allowed into the Park provided that they are kept on a lead and under adult control at all times.
Dogs may not be taken indoors or into the Bat Belfry, Reptile House, Children's Farmyard and any areas with free ranging animals.
